Privacy Policy
Effective October 30, 2026
GameMark is an app for discovering games, keeping a game library, and tracking ratings and prices. This policy explains what information the GameMark app for Android and iOS collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.
Information you give us
You can use GameMark without an account. If you create one, we store:
- Account details: your email address. Your password is handled by Google Firebase Authentication; we never see it.
- Profile: the display name, avatar color, and avatar icon you choose.
- Your games: games you mark as played, want to play, or star, and the scores you give.
- Community activity: your comments, replies, and votes on comments, members you follow, members you hide or block, and reports you file about content or members.
- Game requests: names of games you ask us to add.
- Agreement: the version of the Terms of Use and community rules you accepted, and when.
Information collected automatically
- Install record: a random ID for each install, the platform (Android or iOS), when it was first opened, and the last day it was opened. We use it to count installs and active devices. It is not linked to your account.
- Notification token: if sale alerts are on, a push token for your device (from Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can tell you when a game on your list goes on sale. It is deleted when you turn alerts off or log out.
- Advertising data: GameMark shows ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, and how you interact with ads, to show, measure, and (where you allow it) personalize ads. See Ads below.
What is public
Comments you post can be seen by other GameMark users. If Share my games on Discover is on (Settings → Privacy), your profile, ratings, played games, and Want to play list appear on your public profile and in the Discover feed. You can turn it off at any time.
Ads
Ads keep GameMark free. They are provided by Google AdMob, which acts under Google's Privacy Policy; see also how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
- In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and US states with privacy laws, GameMark asks for your choice before personalized ads are shown. You can change it any time in Settings → Ads → Ad privacy choices (or Profile → Ads for guests).
- On iOS, your device's advertising identifier is used only if you allow tracking when asked. You can change this in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's Settings → Privacy → Ads.
Store prices and images
To show prices, descriptions, and artwork, the app loads them directly from the Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo stores. Like any website visit, those stores see your IP address. No account information is sent to them.
How we use information
- To run the app: your library, ratings, comments, follows, and sale alerts.
- To keep the community safe: reviewing reports and removing content or members that break the community rules.
- To show ads and understand how many people use the app.
We do not sell your account information. Where a privacy law treats sharing data with ad partners for personalized ads as a "sale" or "sharing", you can opt out with Ad privacy choices.
Service providers
GameMark runs on Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Messaging) and Google Cloud, which store and process data for us under Google's terms. Ads are provided by Google AdMob.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your account data until you delete your account. You can do that in the app under Settings → Delete account. It deletes your ratings, comments, follows, public profile, library, blocks, notification tokens, and your sign-in. Reports you filed about others are kept so admins can finish acting on them. Install records are not linked to you and are kept for counting installs.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, and to object to or restrict how it is used. Most of this you can do in the app; for anything else, contact us at the address below.
Children
GameMark is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections and stored with Google Firebase. Access rules let only you change your own data, and let only GameMark admins read reports and account records they need to moderate the community.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
